Bank Transfer - Message the admin if you’d like to pay via bank transfer.

Cash - Come into the studio and pay cash.

    * Paying by Bank Transfer or Cash will not secure your spot in a course or workshop until payment is received. To secure yourself a pole, message the admin and discuss a deposit.

  • Always before your class.

Memberships will be direct debited weekly.

You can pay cash on the day before your class or course begins.

  • If you’ve booked a class and need to cancel, we have an extremely generous 3 hours window. This is because we are both flexible and want to ensure your fellow GC Polefit Peers have the opportunity to attend their favourite classes.

If you cancel before 3 hours of the class beginning you will receive your credit back.

If you cancel less than 3 hours before your class, you will lose the credit/money used to book the casual class.

If you’re booked in for a course and can’t make your regular time, cancelling through Groovio app before the 3 hours will give you a “Makeup Credit”.

    * Make sure you only cancel the one class, not the whole course.

GC Polefit is a boutique business and we lose money and opportunity when you fail to show up to a class you have booked; with this in mind, we ask you to bravely wear our no show policies like an adult. Who booked a class and didn’t show up - ya silly billy.

  • There’s lots of parking around the studio. You can park along Griffith Street or beneath The Strand (first 3 hours free on weekdays, 2-3 hours $5 on weekends).

  • Water! Pole dancing can be a workout, so we encourage you to stay hydrated.

Micro-fibre towel. If you have your own microfibre towel, you can bring that to wipe down your pole at the end of class. If you don’t have one, don’t worry, we provide some at the studio.

Sweat towel. Though our studio has air conditioning, sweat does happen. Bringing a separate towel for your body is always a good idea.

Hair-tie. If you have long hair or a fringe that can get in your eyes it’s nice to have something that pulls your hair out of your face.

Depending on what class you’re booked into, you may need to bring kneepads (we sell some at the studio if you don’t have any). Heels are always fun to dance in, whether in your level classes or casual classes like Exotic and Burlesque, and all our classes (even Embodied Heels) are non-heel friendly should you feel like staying on solid ground.

  • If you’re walking into your first-ever class, we recommend activewear and shorts that you feel comfortable in! Leggings, unless they’re special sticky pole leggings, aren’t the best attire for pole dancing. As you progress along your pole journey, you’ll need different parts of your body to grip the pole. Eventually, a crop top/sports bra and pole shorts will be your ‘go-to’ pole outfit.

The beauty of pole dance and GC Polefit is that you can wear whatever makes you feel amazing. Our instructors can help you grow your confidence or adjust class choreography to suit you and your outfit.

What if I don’t want to wear shorts to class?

You don’t need your skin to grip the pole… when you have something else that will do it for you. If you don’t want to wear shorts to class and would prefer something like long leggings, there are pole-wear companies that cater to your desires and style. Sticky leggings, tops, and body suits are standard apparel in the pole dance world.

Two of our instructors, Immy and Abby, model for a company called Superfly Honey. They specialise in pole pants, shorts, and other accessories that grip the pole. Another great brand we’ve worn before is Gecko Grip Leggings (formerly known as Creatures of XIX).

New Students

  • 2 week unlimited pass info coming soon.

  • You need to book!

For public health and your overall experience, we don’t share poles during class. We have 12 poles available in each class, so if you want to come to a class, you must book in to secure your spot - some of our classes book out quickly!

If there’s space in a class you will be able to book right up to the start of a class.

If you’re wanting to book a course and you miss the start of the course send a message to admin@gcpolefit.com.au either for special consideration request, other options, or to go on the next enrolment’s waitlist.

  • At GC Polefit, whether you come solo or with a friend, anticipation fills the air as you step in. Welcomed by our cheerful instructors, you'll get a rundown on our unique poles and dive into a lively warm-up. Depending on your class you may do some strength and conditioning exercises, designed to increase your muscle awareness and abilities for the fun moves you’re about to learn. Your instructor will then take you through the juicy part of the class - new pole tricks, specialised choreography, dedicated stretching and exercises. With a short cool down at the end, you’ll be headed out the door with a smile and a sense of accomplishment.

  • Of course! Anyone from any background with any level of experience, or none at all, can start pole dancing… at any age too! Even our talented instructors started their pole journeys later in life, without previous dance experience, or without upper body/core strength. Everyone begins at their own start line. And here’s the secret… You will only get the flexibility and strength to do pole dance by doing pole dance. No matter where you are, you’ll be welcomed and supported at GC Polefit from your starting point.

  • We highly recommend everyone begin with our Level 1 course. This class will build you into a pole dancer from the ground up, you can go through at your own pace with help from our friendly instructors. If you’re not ready to commit to 8 weeks upfront, check out our beginner flow class! This class will ease you into movement around the pole, connecting to your body and discovering what you are comfortable with and capable of. From there, our instructors can recommend what classes you will be best suited for.

  • If you have inverted at another studio (gone upside down/completed leg hangs), we recommend you check out one of our Mixed Tricks classes. Our instructors will be able to assess your level and guide you to the course/class that fits your abilities. Alternatively, you can call our studio owners (0458 155 970), and they can guide you into the class you’re looking for.

If you’ve done pole at another studio but haven’t inverted (gone upside down), you can’t go wrong with our Level 1 or 2 courses, Beginners Flow casual class, or any of the Friday night classes.

  • Yass, Queen! Heels are optional in all of our classes. Even in our level courses, you’re most welcome to dance and train in heels.

  • Of course! Pole dance is for everyone. However, we first require a parental or guardian’s signature when you sign up with us.

Class & Course Qs

  • If you’ve booked a course with your weekly membership and have cancelled out (hoping to use that credit for a different class that week), you won’t be able to do it.
When you sign up for a course you’re agreeing to commit to the entire course.
This means the credit, and 1 credit for each week the course is active, is tied up in the course. You committed to it, that credit is holding you accountable.
If you have to miss a day, cancel just that class, and you will receive a makeup class credit for our level classes.

    * Makeup classes are not available for casual classes. Cancel the casual class at least 3 hours before the start of class to have your credit refunded.

  • Assuming you cancelled your course class before the 3-hour window, you should have a makeup credit available.

When you go to book your makeup class, book the class as usual. When you come to the checkout page your makeup credit will be under ‘Packages’. Select the makeup credit package and continue booking the class as usual.

    * Only select classes are available as makeup classes.

  • Arrive 5-10 minutes before your class to put down your bag, get changed, say your ‘hellos’, pick your pole, and visit the bathroom.

  • Unfortunately not. GC Polefit is a safe space for all our students. We want to ensure that everyone feels comfortable in class and isn’t distracted by onlookers, whether inside or outside the studio. If you have friends and family who want to watch your progress and cheer you on, you will have opportunities in class to film yourself (ask other students for permission to be in your videos). And twice a year, we host a Showcase. This is an opportunity for you to perform for all your friends, family and fellow pole sisters, which everyone is welcome to attend.

  • All our classes run for 50 minutes.

    Courses/terms are 8 weeks long.

Mini courses vary in length, usually 4 to 6 weeks.

  • When the pole is set to spin, the pole itself will spin around, propelled by your movement. When set to static, the pole won’t move at all; you will move yourself around the pole. Both are super fun and useful for different moves and classes. Our studio has special poles that change from spin to static and back in a second. This means you’ll learn tricks and choreography on both spin and static.

  • Of course! We love watching your videos, and we encourage you to film during class. It’s a beautiful thing to look back on past weeks’ videos and admire how far you’ve come! If there are other students in the back of your video though, please ask permission from them to be in the background and before you share to social media.

  • All of the classes on our timetable are for females/female-identifying only. This is because GC Polefit specialises in trauma-sensitive teaching and creating a safe space for all our women to constantly feel empowered and comfortable. We are huge supporters of the male pole dance community and love seeing the men come and use our studio.

We always encourage our guys to book private lessons with our instructors or hire the studio for solo training. Please reach out to us on 0458 155 970 with any questions and recommendations for men.

All Other Qs

  • There are a couple of options! Our favourite, and one that yields great results, is private lessons. You’ll be one-on-one with the instructor of your choice and control the class. Work on the things that are important to you and progress at your own pace. Another option is doing a private lesson with some close friends (and it’s cheaper for everyone).

  • Each level has pre-requisite moves that you need to be comfortable, confident and competent in executing before you can level up. Each term has a dedicated “Grading Week”, week 7. Your instructor will ask you to execute the pole trick (on both sides!) and provide honest and kind feedback. If our instructors think you’re ready for the next level, they’ll let you know.

We’re here to lift you up, not hold you back, and we will ensure you’re moving at the safest pace for your journey.

At our studio we offer plenty of variations and different entries into tricks and spins. We can help you find the one that works best for you so you’re not stuck in the same level for months on end and progress feels consistent.

  • We sure do. Our studio has a selection of pole tops, bottoms, bodysuits, kneepads, and other essential pole dance accessories. And shoes! One of our studio owners is the beautiful creator of Sky High Heels, and we adore the boots and sandals she designs. You can try on items in our studio’s dressing room.

We also stock different pole grip aids.

  • Yeah, we do! Our studio is a regular host to Belly Dance courses and the occasional Sound Healing classes! You don’t need previous experience for any of these classes! Our instructors will meet you where you are at. Watch our Instagram page for dates and times.

If you’re not ready to go ‘full pole’ right away our Cheeky Chair class on Wednesdays at 4pm is the perfect intro.
Unleash your playful side with Sammie in Cheeky Chair! Focus on having fun while learning simple choreography and impressive tricks using a chair as your prop. This class is perfect for those looking to ease into pole dance, build strength, and boost confidence with cheeky, flirtatious routines. Add a sassy twist to your dance repertoire and feel empowered as you move!

  • Yes! We offer the studio for hire for private functions and private practices.

If you come from outside our studio, the prices start from $80/hr*.
If you’re a current GC Polefit student (non-member), it’s $60/hr, and if you’re on our Weekly Memberships, you can hire the studio for $30/hr.

Our Unlimited Membership students (VIP Members), get 2 hours of studio hire FREE each week!

*Prices vary for the purpose of studio hire.

    *Members can bring a non-member for $30

**Guest group 2ppl $120, 3ppl $160, 4ppl $200, more than 4ppl reach out to admin and refer to business hire

The studio timetable also has ‘Open Prac’ sessions available. During these times an instructor will be on site in case of questions or emergency, but this is time you can do whatever you’d like! Self guided studio time open to all.

  • Absolutely not. But we do give you multiple opportunities to perform if you want to. Twice a year, we put on Showcase, an in-studio show of our students and classes, so if your family and friends are itching to see just how amazing you are, they can come and cheer you on. We hold these showcases in the middle of the year, and at the end of the year (Christmas Showcase in December).

In 2025 we also held our first studio competiton/performance: She Dares. An opportunity for our current and past students to compete with one another or perform (without the competition element). We hope to hold the She Dares Comp/Showcase each year for all our community to participate and enjoy.

  • You go, girl! We’re here to support you, coach you, and cheer you on. Ask our in-the-know instructors which competitions you might be best suited for, when they’re held, and what you need to enter.

We also offer private lessons with our instructors, and we recommend booking in with a teacher of your choice—or multiple—and using their wisdom and expertise for some one-on-one coaching.

If you would like ‘start to stage’ guidance when it comes to performing, please reach out to Immy (she ran our She Dares Comp Course), who now offers individualised coaching through the course for those looking to perform professionally or compete on the big stages.
